St James' in an Anglican Church, part of the Church in Wales. We are here to help you discover the reality and love of God, and to offer God the worship He so richly deserves through our weekly services.
We are here to share with others that the Kingdom of God - His rule and reign - is among us.
Those who have open minds and hearts are now able to enter into it and know for themselves God's love, presence and goodness. This – and all we do as a result - is framed within the two greatest commandments:
'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind’ and
'Love your neighbour as yourself.’ (Matthew's Gospel 22:37-39)
What is the Anglican Church?
The Anglican Church came into being during the Reformation. It is a worldwide church numbering some 85 million people. Anglicans - as with all other Christians - believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and that accepting Him as Saviour is the only way to abundant life in the present age and in the age to come.
St James' aims to present Jesus and the message of the Christian Faith through its worship, teaching, evangelism and lifestyle, in a way that is consistent with the revealed Word of God in the Bible. The following quote by St Jerome (347-420) sums up the importance of the Bible in this respect:
'The person who doesn't know the Scriptures doesn't know Jesus Christ.'
